Primary Responsibilities of Role:

  • Management and administration of MySQL database platforms
  • Manage MySQL backups and data archiving
  • Provide database support and expertise to report writing, business systems, software development, and other IT functions
  • Monitor job execution and server performance, and troubleshoot issues when they occur
  • Facilitate database system access to third-party resources when applicable
  • Work with other data, security and DevOps teams to implement and maintain source code, pipelines, and security best practices

Work Experience:

3 years of experience as a MySQL Database Administrator, including working with ETL tools, writing and troubleshooting SQL scripts, creating and maintaining indexes, troubleshooting performance issues, managing security, and managing separate development, staging, and production environments. 3-5 years of experience with creating, utilizing, and maintaining DevOps pipelines is strongly preferred.

Skills/Licenses/Certifications:

  • AWS RDS, Percona Server for MySQL or other equivalent certification - Preferred
  • RedGate SQL Toolbelt and SQL Clone or other equivalent MySQL management tools - Required
  • DevOps and source control tools and platforms such as Docker, Bitbucket, GitHub, Ansible, Azure DevOps, etc. - Required
  • Percona Toolkit, AWS Cloudwatch, or other equivalent monitoring tools - Required
  • SQL Server Reporting Services, Power BI, Domo Workbench, Tableau or other BI and reporting platforms
  • Authoring and troubleshooting SQL statements and other DDL - Required
  • Experience with Informatica Data Quality, Melissa Data or other data quality and matching tools - Preferred
  • Experience with other RDBMS database platforms, such as RDS, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, RedShift, etc - Preferred
