What are the responsibilities and job description for the HIM Associate - Full Time position at Randolph Hospital District D B A Memorial Hospital?
Hometown Hospital is looking for an independent and task oriented individual to work in the Medical Record Department. Applicants will need to be able to work up to 20 hours a week on an agreed upon schedule. The schedule has some flexibility to Hours/Days but all time worked will range between 8:00am - 4:30pm; Monday through Friday.
Requirements:
Prefer 2 year Associate Degree in Medical Field but required to have high school diploma or equivalent, high attention to detail; ability to problem solve and reason; experience/working knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); basic computer skills. Must be able to lift a minimum of 10lbs, transfer documents to and from filing room/cabinet.
Additional comments: Must be dependable, strong work ethic, positive attitude, self-motivated, team-oriented and an effective communicator.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Complete Release of Information Requests
Analysis encounters to be coded.
General filing, batch and loose filing.
Various office duties, but not limited to copying, scanning, faxing, laminating, etc.
Assisting with meeting preparation, which may include: editing/creating PowerPoint, copying & creating packets
Open/closed medical record review/trending
Preparation of records for scanning (labeling and organizing)
Printing reports in DA2 (Cerner System)
Answering phone when necessary
Distributing mail (in and outside of the department); distributing data to other departments throughout the hospital
Quality Assurance/Analysis
Batch completion within the electronic medical record
Learn to use transcribing system
