Elementary Physical Education Teacher (2024-2025)

The Randolph Public School Physical Education teacher will facilitate student success in academic and interpersonal skills through academic courses of study and implement district approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific needs of students; providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations and goals. The ideal candidate will: -Collaborate with school personnel, parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions and planning curriculum. -Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. -Promote equity and appreciation of diversity -Maintain classroom management -Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement -Plan and deliver effective instruction -Execute the subject matter knowledge requirements specific for Physical Education Teachers, including: 1. Creating varied and engaging tasks, projects, and presentations that children in grades K-5 can successfully accomplish 2. Developing age-appropriate, standards based lesson and unit plans for a range of ages, grades and student abilities 3. Collaborating with general subject teachers and specialist teachers to develop cross disciplinary lesson plans and integrated units that build transfer skills and knowledge in students 4. Developing in each student an understanding of the relationship of good body function and exercise 5. Inspiring each student to cultivate physical fitness, hygienic habits, proper nutrition, good sleep habits, mindfulness, stress management, and other social/emotional strategies and health; 6. Developing strength, skill, agility, poise, and coordination in individual, dual, and team physical activities and sports, in accordance with each pupil’s ability. 7. Strong emphasis on holistic health instruction, incorporating physical, mental, and social health aspects into the classroom PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: -Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the Building Principal and/or Department Head
