The purpose of the Cloud Security Analyst is to assess client environments for security posture and security compliance status and make prioritized recommendations for needed improvements. Based on a dynamic understanding of core cloud and security concepts, the analyst assesses client IT environments and leads conversations with client teams about they can improve. The analyst must be both a proactive problem solver and a flexible collaborator, able to provide strong leadership in group discussions but be shaped by client perspectives and needs.
This is a customer-facing consulting role, not a purely technical role. The analyst must drive understanding and provide leadership in group settings through their communication and presence.
The analyst must be able to build upon standard technology and security frameworks as part of their delivery (such as the AWS Well-Architected Framework of NIST CSF), even if they currently do not possess deep expertise in these frameworks. The analyst must be willing to invest the time needed to learn.
The analyst will be relied upon to:
- Assess client IT security posture against common technology and security frameworks
- Identify areas for improvement in strategy, process, methods, personnel, or governance based on deficiencies
- Sensibly prioritize improvement efforts based on best practices and client objectives and constraints
- Recommend improvement plans
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assessment of client IT security and compliance status

- Customer-relationship development
- Work intake, deliverables management, and status reporting
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience (3 years) in IT governance, compliance, security, or service delivery
- Proven experience in customer or management facing roles (3 years)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills
- Self-starting, flexible thinker able to self-manage
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong documentation skills
