A Research Engineer is needed for a multinational corporation that produces mirrors as well as a variety of construction, high-performance, and other materials in the Northborough, MA area.

work hours: 8am to 5pm
education: Bachelors
responsibilities:
As we provide R&D efforts for all our industries (glass, ceramics, abrasives, construction materials, aerospace) there are a vast number of chemicals here.
The below bullet points are the must for any candidate
- Expertise in at least one of the following areas: Chemical analysis, elemental analysis, analytical spectroscopy, particle and pore characterization
- Solid hands-on knowledge of at least three of the following analytical techniques: ICP-OES, fusion, acid digestion, titration, XRF, combustion analysis
- Provide multidimensional support to Research activities using expertise in materials analysis/characterization
- Problem solving and leading project work as a part of a cross-functional team, as well as leading R&D projects
- Development of materials characterization competencies in the laboratory
- Perform classical and instrumental chemical analyses /physical measurements of various materials adhering to established SOPs
- Record /analyze data and provide necessary visual observations using accepted laboratory protocols and methods and document accomplishments in clear and coherent technical reports and presentations
- Maintenance and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
- General laboratory housekeeping
Qualifications:
- B.S. in Chemistry, Physics or related discipline, Analytical Chemistry specialization preferred
- Proven hands-on experience in general chemistry laboratory and equipment is required as well as laboratory skills in chemical analysis/materials characterization
- Physical: dexterity and good coordination.
- Computer skills such as word processing, spreadsheet, PowerPoint, charts, and math/statistical procedures.
- Ability to effectively communicate observations, results of experiments, and test details both verbally and written
