responsibilities:
- Enlist business unit support and ensure data domain ownership of data products
- Contribute to establishing a set of global standards, policies, and processes that all data domains and data product owners follow
- Upskill, guide, and mentor data domain and data product owners on data governance global standards, policies, and processes
- Ensure all centralized and decentralized data domain and product owners understand their data governance responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with business and IT partners and data owners across business units in their implementation of data governance practices that enable data discovery, security, compliance, and trust
- Guide data consumers on defining data quality expectations for the data producers
- Guide on repeatable data quality tracking and resolution practices
- Audit that global policies and standards are followed and that data products no longer accessed are retired
- Assesses data products are defined, cataloged, classified, secured, compliant, and the state of data quality defined, monitored, and improved
- Assist in resolving data quality problems, recommend business process changes, and engage key knowledgeable personnel to enhance data quality
- Create methods for monitoring, addressing, and reporting any data incidents.
- Work with other information and operational teams to ensure that our data assets are healthy, trusted, accessible and secure and are used in a meaningful, consistent, and compliant manner.
- Define and strive to achieve Data Governance Objectives and Key Results
- Help define and execute data governance operational processes per policies and standards, clearly articulating roles and responsibilities.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Data Steward, Data Quality Analyst and/or Business Analyst
- Familiarity with the Data Management Book of Knowledge (DMBOK)
- CDMP certification a plus
- Experience with data analysis, data governance, data quality, business data modeling and/or reporting
- In-depth knowledge and experience with Financial Services terminology, concepts, business processes and systems within a core data domain a plus
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- SQL experience required
- Experience working with master data management and/or data quality tools a plus
- Agile project management skills
- Ability to create and maintain data documentation
- Able to present to internal audiences of varying levels within the organization
- Self-directed and proficient with identifying work activities and tracking outcomes
- Minimal travel required
