Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
1. Case Management: Assist attorneys in managing defense cases by organizing files, handling document production and discovery, and tracking deadlines.
2. Legal Research: Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, case law, and medical literature.
3. Drafting and Preparation: Assist in drafting legal documents, including complaints, motions, and discovery requests.
4. Document Management: Organize and maintain case files, ensuring easy access to documents and evidence.
5. Witness and Expert Coordination: Schedule depositions, prepare witness lists, and manage communication with witnesses and experts.
6. Trial Support: Help with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing trial notebooks.
7. Client Interaction: Communicate with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel professionally and courteously.
8. Billing and Timekeeping: Track billable hours, expenses, and costs accurately.
9. Stay Updated: Monitor changes in long-term care and medical malpractice defense laws and update internal resources.
10. Adherence to Ethics and Confidentiality: Maintain ethical standards and confidentiality of client information.
