plc controls technician

salary: $62,400 - $79,040 per year
shift: Third
work hours: 11 PM - 7 AM
education: High School

Responsibilities

• Perform industrial equipment maintenance repairs and troubleshooting
• Troubleshoot and repair metal stamping presses and secondary equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance
• Modify equipment, as required
• Work on projects, as assigned
• Perform other technical duties as assigned by supervision
• Background with electrical controls and automation
• Working knowledge of PLCs
• Ability to read electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
• Working knowledge of three phase motor controls, AC/DC servo drives
• Siemens Level 2 or higher preferred, but not required

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
• manual lifting up to 45lbs
• standing for 6 hours at one time
• working up to 5 hrs of overtime per week

Skills

• PLC repair (2 years of experience is required)
• Control and automation work (2 years of experience is required)
• knowledge of 3 phase motors
• PLC Software
• Rebuild control panels (2 years of experience is required)
• Repair control panels (2 years of experience is required)
