responsibilities:
- Optimizes existing products based on input from marketing, customers, Operations, development engineers, or others.
- Maintains existing products, processes, and specifications, including modifications for new applications.
- Initiates and implements programs to improve quality and cost while meeting customer requirements.
- May support and implement product extensions to meet specific customer needs.
- Has a deep understanding of the products for which they are responsible.
- Runs individual small projects (WWS) or individual project tasks.
- Examples include creating and modifying detailed drawings and conceptual models from layouts, sketches, or notes.
- May or may not be a core team member on projects.
- Possesses basic knowledge of technical tools specific to the job function, such as CAD, CAE, industrial, or quality engineering tools.
- Has basic awareness of general engineering tools like LEAN or 6-sigma, including DoE, FMEA, QFD, etc.
