responsibilities:
- Conduct research on various drug/device interactions as part of the drug delivery and device development process
- Analyze and interpret data from various product development experiments
- Exercise technical discretion in the design, execution and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project objectives
- Maintain familiarity with current scientific literature
- Assist with experiments and literature searches supporting patent submissions
- Contribute to stability studies. Ensure reproducible and reliable results for protocols related to development of drug delivery systems
- Prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses
- Document methods, protocols, and procedures
qualifications:
Education and Experience
- MS or BS in Chemistry or Chemical / Bioscience Engineering with 2-6 years of industrial/academic research experience. Candidates with strong research background in Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, or Materials Chemistry are preferred.
- Experience in Pharmaceutical / Medical Device industry preferred.
- Hands-on experience with analytical instrumentation (e.g. HPLC, DSC, TGA, XRD) a plus
- Strong academic record
- Ability to work in a fast-paced start-up environment on multiple projects within milestone-driven timelines
- Strong interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to collaborate well with both internal and external research and development staff
- High level of initiative, desire to contribute to company's growth and advancement
- Make detailed observations, analyze data and interpret results
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Detailed notebook taking and other documentation skills
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Potentially prolonged periods standing
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
- Must be willing to travel
