Purpose Statement:
Processes cast aluminum parts (Automotive, Appliance, Information/Entertainment, and Meter Housings)
Results Expected:
1. Produces parts to specification in a safe and efficient manner.
2. Maintains quality of manufactured parts by inspecting parts in process.
3. Support the required production schedules by maintaining efficient production cycles.
4. Maintain operational status of gauges and testing equipment by monitoring the condition and required inspection dates and reporting any gauges or equipment out of tolerance
5. Maintains a safe and organized work area by observing all safety policies and procedures and maintaining area per 5-S standards.
6. Documents personal labor by completing related documentation (Prod. Cards, Boards, 4-M Change Logs, personal notebooks).
7. Assists in achieving the goals of the Company by performing other duties as assigned.
Equipment Operated:
Gauges, Calipers, Leak Testers, and other Test Equipment
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
· Must clearly demonstrate the ability to read and understand written instructions and perform basic manufacturing arithmetic.
· Must be able to follow predetermined work instructions concerning customer part specific processes & operation of equipment used.
· Must be able to perform visual inspection of parts to determine acceptable quality
· Must understand Non-Conformance, Corrective Actions and Preventive Actions;
· Must understand CNC machine processes.
· Must have the ability to set up and calibrate accessories and equipment with minimal supervision
· Must absolutely keep detailed records for equipment and procedures
· Will perform necessary maintenance and cleaning on equipment
· Will inspect finished product to ensure it meets customer required specifications before final packaging & labeling
· Will at all times abide by company safety guidelines
· Required to stand to perform job assignment for eight (8) hours per shift.
· Requires walking within an area of 15-25 feet.
· Requires the ability to lift parts weighing 5-20 pounds.
· Periodically must bend or stoop to pack parts and adjust packaging trays that hold customer parts.
· Requires the ability to use fine motor skills to screw quality gauges into designated locations on parts.
· May also require insertion of smooth surfaced measuring gauges into predetermined part locations.
· Requires the ability to read and comprehend results of tests being performed.
· Requires the ability to complete paperwork identifying results of tests conducted.
· Requires the ability to place parts on testing equipment, clamp the part to the holder and initiate testing procedure.
· Requires ability to observe pass/fail results of test and document according to predetermined quality standards.
· Can periodically be assigned daily or week-end overtime.
Physical Demands:
· Ability to work safely and effectively under pressure.
· High degree of mental concentration and virtual stress
· Bending, twisting, lifting (to 20 pounds with proper equipment
Work Environment/Hours:
· Exposure to manufacturing related chemicals including oils, grease, solvents, cleaning agents
· Exposure to die cast related materials including sharp aluminum, die lubricants, trim lubricants
· Exposure to extreme variation in working environment temperatures (40 to 90 degrees F)
· Must be flexible for possible coverage on any shift or work schedule. Some holiday/weekend work may be required.
· Must have knowledge and ability to practice safe work habits in accordance with federal & state laws and company policy.
· Must be able to work any shift.

Employees who complete their probationary period will begin at the entry point of the wage progression timeline. Employees who are in the steps of the progression shall be expected to show satisfactory progress. Failing to perform work in a satisfactory manner during any point in the progression will subject the employee to disqualification, but as long as he/she remains in the classification, the rate shall progress every 30 days in accordance with job classification & wages.
