This position is located at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California.
Salary determined by a Collective Bargaining Agreement.
This position is not available for telecommuting.
Essential Functions:
- Operate various Range Data Communications Systems. These systems include but are not limited to voice, data messaging, switching, display, and recording systems.
- Coordinate system configurations for mission support with other range operators and planners.
- Coordinate event anomaly reporting, logging, work approval receipt and mitigation as applicable.
- Responsible for real time and scheduled requests for system configuration changes.
- Provide maintenance support as required.
Required Skills:
Good written and verbal communications skills.
- Must have analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work multiple real-time events during operational support.
Ability to interpret and/or prepare documents of reference that define the configurations of the equipment under your control.
Ability to understand and be able to explain the configuration(s) associated with the equipment under your control.
Required Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Zero to two or more years’ technician experience.
- Ability to become knowledgeable of communications equipment and technology including but not limited to; serial data, modems, T1/DS1, multiplexors, cryptographic, asynchronous transfer mode, SONET, and IP/Ethernet networking.
- Ability to learn the fundamentals of using test equipment, and how to troubleshoot.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook).
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.
- The flexibility to work occasional non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project or mission requirements.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship or U.S. naturalization.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License required.

The hourly rate for this role is determined by a Collective Bargaining Unit and ranges from $23.77 to $27.78. RGNext considers several factors when extending an offer for employment, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training and preferred skills, and knowledge.
