Veterinary Assistant

The Veterinary Assistant is someone who will work directly with our clients and patients, enjoys working in a face-paced environment, is organized, reliable, patient, compassionate, and maintains professionalism at all times.

Pay range - $16-$18/hr

Key Responsibilities:

• Executing treatment orders 
• Collecting urine/fecal samples
• Administering medications
• Keeping cages clean and sanitized
• Walking, feeding, and picking up after the animals
• Various housekeeping duties (laundry, dishes, taking out garbage etc.)
• Creating a dosing schedule from the DVM orders
• Communicating with clients via phone and in-person
• Taking Radiographs, perform and read urinalysis
• Restraining animals
• Outpatient procedures
• Filling prescribed medications
• Taking patient histories
• Surgical prep and recovery
• Building surgical packs

Requirements:

• 1 year veterinary experience or education
• Team-oriented
• Ability to multi-task
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
