Rasmussen University is growing! We are seeking a Program Coordinator to provide leadership to the Surgical Technology program. This role will create course material that will fulfill the educational needs of Rasmussen University's students and play an integral role in the success and overall positive experience for students of Rasmussen University.
Responsibilities:
The Program Coordinator is responsible for promoting and supporting the vision and mission of the assigned program at the University while teaching courses in a variety of modalities. Minimum expectations for all Program Coordinators include focus on the following areas:
Program Coordinator-specific Responsibilities:
- Programmatic & Academic Leadership
- Programmatic & Academic Ownership
Full-time Faculty-specific Responsibilities:
- Teaching Effectiveness: Professionalism, Use of Technology, and Content Expertise
- Student Outreach and Support
- Service to University & Community: Attendance at Meetings and Campus/Community Events
- Professional Development and In-service
- Fulfillment of Professional Development & In-Service (REU) commitment in most current AY review
- Ranked Exceeding Minimum Expectations in most recent AY review
Reporting Relationships:
The Program Coordinator reports to the Academic Dean.
Requirements:
- Minimum of five (5) years current experience in the operating room in the scrub role or five (5) years of current experience as an instructor of surgical technology or a combination of both within the last 10 years.
- An Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology or Surgical Nursing is required; Bachelor’s preferred. Must also possess and maintain a current AST (CST) certification, including completion of 80 hours of continuing education every 4 years
- Teaching experience preferred (Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the field of study)
- Self-motivated, flexible, and able to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with students, leadership, and peers
- Excellent written communication and strong verbal communication skills in the English language
- Faculty will need regular access to a computer with the following system requirements
- Windows XP or greater
- Microsoft Office 2010
- An internet connection
