Risk and Safety Supervisor

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor employee’s compliance with the Hours-of-Service regulations through audits and compliance with corporate safety policies and procedures.
• Manages the driver qualification process while ensuring documentation related Commercial Motor Vehicle Records, DOT physicals, National Registry, Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and Drug and Alcohol testing are maintained appropriately.
• Ensures compliance with OSHA and other local Agency regulations.
• Address DOT complaints under the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
• Establishes effective communication methods and practices for staff across all shifts to facilitate departmental efficiency.
• Conducts inspections on vehicle equipment which includes CCTV cameras, Lytx Drive Cam System, Zonar Wands, and Charging System.
• Inspects vehicles for compliance items such as registration cards, insurance cards, inspection stickers, fire extinguishers, chocks, triangles, first aid kits, and lights.
• Assist with post-accident and post-injury investigations to ensure proper completion of required documentation and reporting to the appropriate agencies. Pulling video footage of buses using CCTV and Lytx.
• Monitor safety/risk online reporting for accidents, injuries and target issues identified as casual factors. Reporting of accidents/incidents/medical claims to insurance company with any needed action resulting from these events. Provide full reports of any gathered information along with photos, schedule medical appointments with company MRO and filing Workers Compensation Claims.
• Oversee building maintenance at all locations to ensure compliance with all safety requirements.
• Assist with all aspects of training and provide ongoing training as new initiatives are implemented and conduct monthly safety meetings to operations and maintenance employees.
• Provide training to Road Supervisor on how to complete accident and incident reports, investigation information, and proper picture taking which are critical for the insurance adjuster to determine cost and preventability.
• Provides hands on training on how to submit hazards, accidents, incidents, and near-misses on our reporting system SafeTracker.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Frequently uses the computer with fingers and hands.
• Frequently exposed to outside elements of extreme heat and cold.
• Occasionally drives a motor vehicle.
• Frequently exposed to fumes, odors, hazardous materials, dirt, and dust.
• Occasionally lifts objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds when moving supplies.
• May be required to stoop, bend, or kneel.
