Linux Engineer

Description

RavenTek is seeking a Linux Engineer to provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and different technologies. The Linux Engineer will interact with the client regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts. The Linux Engineer will: 

• Design and define system architecture for new or existing computer systems
• Analyze user's requirements concept of operations documents and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications

Requirements

Required Security Clearance: TS/SCI with FSP

Qualification Requirements:

• Senior engineering experience with managing Linux, Unix, and Windows operating systems. 
• Experience with security best practices in lockdown down, automating lockdown and documenting security configuration. 
• Automation of system administration tasks using Linux scripting, and Python.
• Experience with software provisioning, configuration management, and application - deployment tool enabling infrastructure as code using Ansible or a tool like puppet, Chef or Salt.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Grafana etc. 
• Experience with configuration of VMware, and vSphere, deployment of virtual machine instances
• Experience with enterprise testing and lab environments, active directory, PKI infrastructure.

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Three to five years' experience in a Cloud Engineer role or related position. 

Preferred Additional Experience: 

• Experience with Cloud platform such as Amazon, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Certification in IT

Employment Type: Full Time / Permanent

Working Conditions:

Business work hours are on site and set from Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week.

Physical Requirements:

Employee needs to be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods; use hand(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Most positions require ability to work on desktop or laptop computer for extended periods of time reading, reviewing/analyzing information, and providing recommendations, summaries and/or reports in written format. Must be able to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing. Employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move moderate amounts of weight, typically less than 20 pounds. Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
