General Summary
Implements and maintains Rayburn Electric Cooperative, Inc.’s (Rayburn) hybrid solutions infrastructure. This role encompasses an extensive array of responsibilities, including the implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the hybrid environment to ensure operational efficiency and technological innovation. Specializes in availability, capacity, performance, and security on all these platforms and is knowledgeable in Azure VPN Gateways, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, Third-party Network Virtual Appliances (NVAs), WANs, Microsoft Windows Workstations, Servers, and Exchange Online.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities / Knowledge
- Implements and maintains Rayburn’s hybrid solutions architecture, making sure it complies with requirements and integrates effectively with current systems and cloud services.
- Implements and maintains project schedules, objectives, to produce solutions within predetermined timeframes and requirements.
- Implements and maintains Rayburn’s hybrid environments, including Azure VPN Gateways, Microsoft 365, Azure, and third-party Network Virtual Appliances (NVAs), ensuring optimal performance, security, and compliance.
- Resolves technical issues within the hybrid solutions environment.
- Proactively monitors, maintains, and optimizes the hybrid solutions architecture to guarantee high availability and reliability.
- Implements comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the hybrid solutions environment, actively participating in incident response efforts and mitigating risks to maintain operational continuity.
- Implements and maintains cyber security best practices for IT systems, user accounts, and data storage, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive Rayburn information.
- Performs day-to-day tasks within the IT systems infrastructure environment to ensure reliability and availability.
- Provides mentorship and guidance to System Administrators & Junior System Administrators on hybrid/system solutions technologies and best practices in accordance with Rayburn’s core values.
- Collaborates with IT and business teams to ensure the effective integration and configuration of cloud-based and on-premises solutions, enhancing system functionality and user experience.
- Implements policies and procedures for system updates, patch management, and security measures across hybrid/system environments, ensuring the protection of Rayburn data and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintains a working knowledge of cybersecurity methods and networking.
- Participates in regulatory audits, spot-checks, and self-certifications including mock audits, may serve as a SME for NERC CIP standards.
- Supports Rayburn’s Members and Board with hybrid solutions issues, providing advice and practical solutions as needed.
Key Accountabilities
- Complies with all policies, procedures and confidentiality requirements or obligations, including those inherent in this position, effective as a result of employment with
- Timely shares complete information with others including Rayburn management and staff, contractors, and other third parties, as required.
- Works closely with Rayburn’s IT Teams to ensure seamless integration and efficient operation of Rayburn’s IT systems and infrastructure.
- Delegates jobs and tasks, as approved by supervisor, to appropriate employees, providing complete information and resources to properly complete such jobs and tasks.
- Subject to on call after normal business hours as business needs dictate.
- Performs any other duties as assigned by supervisor or executive management.
- Acts as a liaison between IT and other business departments.
Job Specifications / Skills Required
Education:
Bachelor’s or higher in computer related degree is preferred
Experience:
4 years of experience in areas including but not limited to Microsoft Server configurations and roles, Active Directory, Azure Cloud, IT systems architecture, DNS, group policy, storage and backup solutions, proficiency in administrating hybrid/virtualization environments, and proficient in the use of scripting languages, is preferred.
Certifications:
Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, VMware Technical Associate – Data Center Virtualization, CompTIA Security , is preferred
