What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Specialist position at Raytheon Intelligence & Space?
The Industrial Security Specialist will assist with all aspects of security utilizing the requirements set forth in the ICDs, 32 CFR National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM) and other manuals or directives as applicable. This position will work with employees and leaders at all levels of the organization. Must be self-driven and results oriented individual capable of effectively working multiple tasks concurrently across a diverse program landscape. This position will be appointed Alternate Contractor Program Security Officer (ACPSO) and/or Alternate Facility Security Officer (AFSO).
The responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
Provides multi-disciplined security oversight
Coordinate clearance processing and program access
Provides classified meeting support
Provides critical security support to the site’s program managers
Develops and administers programmatic security education programs; Leads daily operations of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) or Closed Areas
Maintains secure facilities in accordance with ICDs, 32 CFR National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).
Prepares and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Operations Security (OPSEC) Plan, work instructions/plans and classified and/or proprietary test plans. Investigates security violations and prepare reports detailing procedures to preclude future occurrences.
Required Skills:
3 years of experience
Working knowledge of the 32 CFR NISPOM, Director of Central Intelligence Directives (ICDs), and related DoD Manuals.
Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion in determining actions and managing outcomes
Ability to plan, schedule, and prioritize activities to accomplishing competing objectives
Excellent written, verbal, and live presentation skills
Self-starter with ability to work with limited supervision
Willing to work extended hours, and respond to after hour alarms
Some travel required
Experience with government policies and procedures for handling and safeguarding national security information
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.
Current Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI Security Clearance.
Desired Skills:
Industrial Security Professional (ISP) certification
FSO Certification for a classified possessing facility
Security-related coursework from CDSE, NSTi or customer sponsor
Requires theoretical to advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through University Degree combined with experience. Practical knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.
Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience.
Engineering/Other Technical Positions:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics(STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
