Position Scope and Charter:

We are seeking candidates for the position of Manufacturing Department Repair Team Supervisor at the Indianapolis site. The individual will oversee repair and overhaul tasking associated with high reliability electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring all repair tasks and deliverable assets meet the rigorous requirements of Aerospace Quality Standards and that the work is conducted in a manner compliant with applicable OSHA safety standards.

Essential Tasks:

The following is a sample of the various tasking required of a Repair Team Supervisor. The omission of specific responsibilities does not exclude them from the position if the tasking is comparable or logically associated to the position.

  • Perform supervisory functions such as scheduling and prioritizing work assignments, conduct performance appraisals, takes disciplinary action and makes promotion recommendations.

  • Review repair plans for required tasking steps and associated labor hour content. Make changes to work plans, assignments or methods necessary to effectively accomplish the task.

  • Perform interviews and make staffing recommendations.

  • Share key organizational communications with teams and ensure appropriate actions are completed.

  • Ensure that the needs of employees as well as production goals are satisfied.

  • Lead the implementation and documentation of new processes and repair methods within team.

  • Maintain/modify existing and implement new statistical process controls.

  • Periodically conduct process audits related to repair functions, such as Static and Foreign Object Controls.

  • Maintain the data necessary for compliance with the various facility certifications.

  • Perform related work as required.

Minimum Educational / Work Experience Requirements:

High school graduate or GED required. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a repair environment is required and a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role is desirable. A Bachelor’s degree in Management or Leadership is desirable but not required.

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office with a particular emphasis on Excel. Familiarity with SAP or similar Enterprise Resource Planning software is a plus.

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must.

  • Ability to communicate technical concerns in a manor the audience can understand.

  • Strong people skills with the ability to handle difficult discussions.

Technical Skills:

The candidate must be able to read and understand assembly requirements detailed on drawings.

Security Requirements:

The candidate must meet the requirements necessary to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.

Physical Requirements:

Significant standing, walking, moving, sitting, climbing stairs, carrying, bending, reaching and handling are part of the daily routine. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential tasks.

Understands basic management approaches such as work scheduling, prioritizing, coaching and process execution.

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience with specialized knowledge of technical or operational practices.

Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
