Role Overview
RTX is seeking to hire a Sr. Information System Technologist that will be working in a highly collaborative, multi-platform and multi–disciplined environment. The position is to be part of the Enterprise ICON DT team responsible supporting the ICON data center and its foundation. The candidate will need the soft skills to collaborate with a diverse team of individuals from different departments, vendors and partners. With a demanding environment, the candidate will have to be able to quickly prioritize their assigned responsibilities and think on their feet. Even though, the candidate will be working in a team dynamic, they will need to be a self-starter and capable of completing tasks and projects on their own with little oversite. They will also have the opportunity to participate in the integration and test process to build the ICON infrastructure. This will demand them to utilize their strong documentation to get tasks and actions done on time with a “right the first time” attitude. The work environments will be complex and technically challenging so the candidate must have a strong troubleshooting skillset and have a “think out of the box” mindset to solve many of the tasks assigned. Duties include, but are not limited to, Windows server and server-core configuration, adaptation, maintenance, and support; Windows domain group policy implementation and development; access management in an Active Directory authentication domain; embedded operating systems management; new systems design and integration; and workstation support.
Responsibilities
- Build, configure, and administrate all aspects of Windows Server and Server-core domain environment.
- Apply security hardening according to DISA STIG and JSIG requirements.
- Certificate Authority SME, Certificate issuance, renewal, and monitoring.
- Install, configure, and maintain Active Directory and third-party software utilities for hardware systems.
- Assist in the configuration and management of multiple RSA two factor authentication appliances.
- Analyze system faults, troubleshoot, and runs diagnostic tests on operating systems and hardware to detect problems.
- Create and configure group policies, user groups, manage AD sites, and replication.
- Provide training as required.
- Create and maintain system documentation for domain technologies, including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps.
Basic Qualifications
- Experience working with Active directory, Windows File Services, and Group Policies.
- Expert knowledge in administering Active Directory, GPOs, PKI, DNS, DFS.
- Knowledge of Exchange and SharePoint on-prem.
- Experience implementing Active Directory authentication (Kerberos, LDAPS) for 3rd party applications.
- Experience with application installation and multi-server environment/deployment.
- Experience in support of virtual Microsoft Windows servers and desktops.
- Experience in support and management of VCSA and vSphere environments.
- Hands-on experience with security hardening according to DISA STIG and JSIG requirements.
- Ability to prioritize work without management direction and provide clear and documented status updates to management.
- Must have the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new concepts, capabilities or tools based on the needs.
- Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
- U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Splunk
- Experience with Lumension/Ivanti
- Experience with HP server hardware support and diagnosis
- DOD IAT level 2 certification (CompTIA Security , etc.)
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
- ITIL Foundations v3
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Education
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.
