Overview:

The Accountant performs accounting activities that are complex and broad in nature, specializing in the general ledger and financial reporting functions.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate general ledger entries by processing accounts payable and receivable transactions.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheet statements, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Analyze financial data and prepare reports to support management decisions.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Participate in month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Stay up-to-date on accounting standards and best practices.
• Perform vendor analysis, expense review and analysis and support procurement functions.
• May provide support to other departments with financial-related tasks.
• Perform other duties as required and/or assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a mid-level accounting role.
• Proven experience with general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Sage FAS, PDI Enterprise, Sales Tax Programs).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
