What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Specialist position at RBC?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reviews production schedules and related information and confers with department supervisors to determine material requirements to identify overdue materials and to track material
- Requisitions material and establishes sequential delivery dates to departments, according to job order priorities and material availability
- Examines material delivered to production departments to verify conformance to specifications
- Arrange in-plant transfer of materials to meet production schedules
- Computes amount of material required to complete job orders
- Compiles and maintains manual or computerized records such as material inventory, in-process production reports, and status and location of materials
- Moves or transports materials from one department to another
- Arranges for repair and assembly of material or part
- Monitors and controls movement of material and parts in departments and between departments as necessary to maintain efficient flow of product to meet production and shipping schedules.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Science or Engineering, Finance or Accounting or related field
- Two years of experience in supply chain, procurement/purchasing, expediting and/or delivery assurance.
- Excellent communication and organization skills
- Proficiency in material and submittal tracking and reporting software highly desirable
- Excellent computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- The ability to multi- task is necessary to be able to support multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to perform well in a team environment is critical.
