Readsboro Central School is looking for a .2 (1 day per week) Guidance Counselor for our Pk-8th grade school.
The school is located in Readsboro, Vermont, a beautiful area ideally located near the vibrant towns of Bennington and North Adams, with ski resorts, golf courses and recreational lakes close by.
Readsboro is a dynamic, highly involved, and innovative school committed to student learning. It has a dedicated and engaged staff and a supportive community and board. Students are also highly involved in school and community decision-making and are accustomed to being held to high standards and hands-on projects.
The ideal candidate is highly skilled in classroom management, treats students with warmth while providing consistency and structure, is a self-reflective and innovative practitioner open to growing their practice. They will demonstrate a passion for working with children and excellent communication and collaboration skills. As a small school, ideal staff members jump in to help each other when necessary and are open to wearing multiple hats. Our culture is collaborative and supportive rather than siloed and rigid.
Minimum qualifications
1. Bachelor’s Degree
2. Licensed, or willing to get licensed, to teach in Vermont.
3. Understanding of multi-age teaching and differentiation
4. Patience, warmth, structure, and respect to the dignity of students
5. Excellent classroom management skills that rarely, if ever, require office intervention
