Scale Clerk

Overview

REAL ALLOY is the global market leader in third-party aluminum recycling and specification alloy production. We operate in 23 facilities strategically located in 6 countries across North America and Europe. We convert aluminum scrap and by-products into reusable aluminum metal for a growing number of applications across various industries. Our headquarters is located in Cleveland, Ohio.

Responsibilities

Monday through Friday 4:45 a.m. -2 p.m. with required overtime.

This individual will be assisting the S&R department supervisor with receiving and shipping raw materials, fractions, and by-products through the milling process.

• Weigh all inbound and outbound trucks and notify member of management of any discrepancies (shortage and/or overages).
• Completing inbound and outbound shipment paperwork.
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with Shipping and Receiving departments.
• Monitoring shipping and receiving data. Compiling reports for management review.
• Correctly entering all necessary information into Oracle on a timely basis as directed.
• Assigning lot numbers to incoming loads and entering into Oracle.
• Record load’s lot number on a white board for visual location reference.
• Maintaining safe and environmentally sound behavior and ensuring that proper work procedures and practices are followed.
• Participating in quality, safety and environmental meetings and training, as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills a must, experience in Oracle a plus.
• Ability to function with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong decision making, analytical skills and proven ability to work cross-functionally.

Physical Demands

Requires flexible hours and frequent keyboarding and sitting at computer terminals. Must be able to lift or move items up to 25 pounds. Frequent short trips outside to the scale to inspect and monitor out bound by-product temperature is required. Ability to walk up and down steps several times a day.
