Seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented DOT Truck Dispatcher to coordinate and schedule our driver’s hauls. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the driver’s routes and troubleshooting any problems that may arise along the way. This role will also involve developing and implementing safety programs, conducting safety training sessions, monitoring driver behavior, and ensuring that our company's vehicles are properly maintained.
Responsibilities:
* Manage truck drivers’ schedules and routes
* Scheduling freight to be picked up and delivered
* Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery
* Communicate with drivers to ensure they have the necessary information and resources to complete their routes
* Review logs of truck drivers
* Develop and implement safety programs that comply with all DOT regulations and industry standards
* Conduct regular safety training sessions for drivers and other chemical plant employees
* Monitor driver behavior to ensure compliance with safety regulations, including hours-of-service regulations and driver qualification standards
* Investigate accidents and incidents to identify the root cause and implement corrective actions
* Ensure that company vehicles and leased trailers are properly maintained and meet all safety requirements
* Maintain all necessary records, including driver logs, inspection reports, and safety performance records
* Monitor industry trends and emerging safety issues to ensure our safety programs remain current and effective
* Other related projects and tasks as required
Requirements:
* High school diploma or higher degree requirement
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience in dispatching tucks
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
* Strong understanding of DOT regulations and safety protocols
* Excellent organizational and communication skills
* Ability to develop and implement effective safety programs.
* Ability to analyze data and identify trends to improve safety performance.
* Familiarity with safety management software and other tools used to track safety performance
* Experience in the transportation industry preferred
* ELD Experience a must
* Competency with MS office particularly Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint
