What are the responsibilities and job description for the WELDER position at Rebar Machine Service?
Rebar Machine Service is an OEM manufacturer of rebar fabrication equipment. RMS has been in business for over 30 years, with a staff of professional fabricators, machinists, and technicians. RMS has a full machine shop, welding fabrication shop, and an electronics production facility. We are currently looking for a highly-skilled, self-motivated welder to join our team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interpret drawings and plans to understand project scope and specifications
- Produce templates and other work aids
- Utilize industry tools and equipment, including hand shears, chipping hammers, portable grinders, hand files and scrapers
- Use precision measuring tools to inspect grooves and angles
- Set up components for welding according to specifications(e.g. cut material to match measurements)
- Weld parts in flat, vertical, and/or overhead positions
- Conduct tests to check weld quality
- Maintain proper equipment; repair when needed
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have 3-5 years experience as a welder(welding will mostly be 1/16 dual shield FCAW and 0.035 MIG)
- Must have steel-toe boots and welding helmet, which will be required for a pre-employment weld test
- Must be able to read blueprints and drawings; take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures
- Must be able to follow directions, work hard, and pay attention to detail
- Must be able to pass a drug test(including marijuana)
Starting pay is $18-20/hour, depending on experience
60-day review for possible advancement
Eligible for benefits after 60 days of employment
Salary : $18 - $20
