Join our dedicated team as a Job Coach, where you will empower participants with the vocational skills and resources they need to achieve gainful employment. This role involves providing comprehensive pre- and post-employment services, including resume writing, job search assistance, interview preparation, soft skills development, job placement, and retention support. Our participants come from various internal and external programs, including RECAP’s Parole Re-Entry Program, Human Services, and Supportive Housing Program. Responsibilities
- Conduct assessment and intake processes to confirm participant eligibility and identify strengths and areas needing support.
- Link participants to local, state, and federal resources to support their employment journey.
- Provide training in soft skills, team building, workplace communication, conflict resolution, and time management.
- Establish and maintain contact with public and private employers to facilitate job placements.
- Regularly review trainee progress and update resumes as needed.
- Conduct presentations, classes, and other instructional sessions aimed at enhancing employability.
- Occasionally transport selected trainees to interviews, job fairs, and other employment-related events.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of job development, supportive, and vocational services.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with community programs, residents, and employers.
- AAS Degree in Human Services preferred, High School Diploma/GED required, or a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate tactfully and diplomatically.
- Counseling experience and strong organizational and planning skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Proficiency in computer use, including familiarity with common office equipment.
- Knowledge of principles and practices of partnering with local businesses and social services systems.
- Valid driver's license.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Exposure to inclement weather and noise may occur.
- Use of electronic equipment such as computers, printers, fax, and copy machines is required.
- Driving on city streets and highways, with exposure to traffic and weather conditions, may be necessary.
- Consistent punctuality and attendance at the job site are required.
