Position Summary:
The operations analyst is responsible for complex data analysis, statistical projections and regression modeling of factors to assist the Operations department in understanding current and future trends as it relates to variability and predictability in processes, labor availability and new programs. Responsible for continuous improvement in the development and implementation of new methodologies/tools for supply chain analysis aimed at equipping multiple business units with key decision tools throughout the product life cycle.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Uses Operational Planning & Supply Chain Tools; Process includes statistical analysis for each Program, Business Unit or Division
- Uses other data tools (i.e. Excel, Access, SQL,& Discovery) for the development of reports and information
- Analyses audit data – prepares the market situation reviews, trend evaluations, statistical (or other) projections, correlations, regression models, etc.
- Applies Econometric modelling to Forecast Generation and supportive processes.
- Contributes to development of new approaches and methodologies for Supply Chain analysis, this includes partnership with IT for application and tool development.
- Formulates Business scenarios – hypotheses – then investigates and tests through identification and review of appropriate historical analogies.
- Proactively manages business data to ensure all available business variability information is taken into account directly or indirectly.
- Designs and develops business decision models aimed at understanding cost and service trade-offs for distribution management programs and services.
- Develops test cases for major system level enhancements
- Participates in monthly, collaborative Operations meetings with an emphasis on analysis that leads to Income Statement and Balance Sheet improvements.
- Uses unit forecast results to provide input into responsiveness strategies across the complete Operations.
- Participates in Demand/Forecast Reconciliation Meetings between Marketing, Planning, Finance and Others
- Manages the Operational Process and Metrics to drive improvement processes.
- Ensures program lifecycles are effectively managed.
- Supports the business in end of program decisions using trend analysis and leverage past product life-cycles/forecasts to position department to take on new business.
- Initiates programs for Operations process improvement/optimization across Business Units
- Trains others on Operational tools, methods, & techniques.
Qualifications
Education/ Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Information Systems, or a related field
- Advanced Excel experience
- Knowledge of warehouse production flows; end to end
- Ability to create SOPs and process flows in Visio
- Demonstrated knowledge of the variables and dynamics that determine overall business performance and how strategic and tactical performance directly influences business performance (Marketing, R&D, Manufacturing, Finance function knowledge and specific results demonstrated).
