A/R Specialist

Our Client, Williams Electric, a division of United Utility, is a licensed utility contractor with over 50 years of experience, offering a full array of electrical and utility services, including overhead and underground power transmission and distribution, substation services, fiber optics, and storm restoration. Due to their rapid growth, we are hiring an AR Specialist for their Corporate office in Charlotte, NC. Under the direction of the Accounting Manager, the AR Specialist will prepare, submit, and manage customer invoicing; minimalize overdue accounts; report Accounts Receivable data to leadership; support the Accounting Manager with closings and audits; perform a variety of administrative tasks pertaining to the accounts receivable.

            Job Duties:

• Responsible for daily customer invoicing.
• Primary point of contact for customer payments.
• Resolution of under/over payment issues.
• Communicates with customers regarding invoices.
• Management of collections.
• Submission of invoices in compliance with customer procedures, including uploading information via customer portals (ex. Maximo).
• Issues monthly statements and follows up on past-due invoices.
• Ensures overdue account percentage is minimalized per established guidelines.
• Responds to Accounts Receivable emails and phone calls in a timely manner.
• Supports the Accounting Manager with month-end and year-end closings as well as year-end audits.
• Reports monthly Accounts Receivable data to leadership team.
• Performs additional duties as required.

   

  Job Qualifications/Skills:

• An ideal candidate will have a Bachelor/Associate Degree in accounting, business, or related field.
• Minimum of three years of experience in Accounts Receivable or Billing.
• Must be proficient using a computer and applicable software including customer portals (ex. Maximo).
• Works well in a team environment to accomplish common tasks.
• High volume transaction experience.
• Must have strong attention to detail and must be well organized.
• Must be able to communicate with customers and team members.
• Must be highly responsive to requests, work quickly and effectively with minimal supervision.
• Must handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism at all times.
• Has excellent interpersonal skills as needed to work with executive and support staff.
• Must possess a strong sense of urgency and know how to prioritize work.
• Excellent grammar, verbal and written communication skills required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Office).

Salary : $41,000 - $45,000
