Corporate Controller
Our client is looking for a hands-on Financial Leader with Controller experience to oversee the day-to-day finance operations and provide data-driven analyses and insights to help inform strategic decision making across the business. Run all critical finance tasks - including the financial transactions and sub ledgers, month-end close, and monthly financial reporting package - and be an essential partner to their dynamic team.
Function as key member of the executive team reporting directly to the company president. Manage staff accountants, AP, AR, billing, and office manager.
Main Responsibilities:
- Create a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement.
- Manage and direct the operations of the accounting and administrative departments, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department’s goals and objectives.
- Responsible for the daily, monthly, and annual transaction processing and posting.
- Maintain the system of controls in recording of all reconciliations, journal entries, and accounting.
- Ensure all transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP.
- Daily management and forecasting of cashflow while balancing timely payments.
- Provide expert analysis and evaluations on financial, accounting, planning & forecasting, and cost to improve the results of the organization.
- Oversee accounts receivable and collection activities to ensure timely and accurate collections.
- Maintain chart of accounts, policies & procedures, and financial reports.
- Issue timely and complete financial statements, supporting documentation and analyses.
- Maintain effective internal control system and liaise with external and internal auditors on improvement of internal control procedures.
- Coordinate audits with various external auditors, including year-end financial auditors, bank auditors, and government auditors. Ensure that reports and documents provided to various auditors are accurate and complete.
- Identify, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources in accounting and administrative departments.
- Maximize efficiency and labor utilization while controlling and balancing company needs and overtime.
- Ensure compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper use and cleanup of accounting software
- Develop annual forecast and budgets
- Mentor and coach subordinates and other staff.
- Assist in employee recruitment, performance evaluations, promotions, and retention activities.

Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or 30 hours in accounting
- MBA, CMA or CPA a plus
- 6 years overall experience with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial role
- Solid understanding of GAAP
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to lead and mentor others
