The Role
They are looking for a Director to lead the Hardware Engineering team inclusive of Surgical Instruments, Systems, and Mechatronics.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the Mechatronics, Instruments, and Systems sub-teams within Hardware engineering
- Integrate sensors, motors, and encoders into a fully functional robotic system
- Verification and validation testing design
- Support and contribute to intellectual property development
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the Neocis system design.
- Define and execute team structure
- Define design standards for the hardware engineering team.
- Recruit and maintain a high-quality team to achieve the team and company goals.
- Maintain effective communications with supervisor and peers in project activities.
- Work with a cross-functional team including software and electrical engineers as well as clinicians and marketing staff.
Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 10 years in engineering, designing medical device systems, with both reusable and single-use devices
- 5 years in engineering management
- Strong understanding of currently available robotic components, including motors and encoders.
- Proficient with design for manufacturing and materials choices
- Experience with documenting and testing electro-mechanical systems
- Team player with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Familiarity with FDA regulations and ISO standards
- Start-up experience
