JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for financial analysis and general accounting. Working under general supervision from the Kingwood Texas location.
This position will also be accountable for the accurate revenue and cost recognition of various types of orders including long-term construction projects, lump sum and time and material service jobs, and aftermarket parts sales. Also accountable for timely and accurate month-end close and reporting. This position supports the development of accounting and reporting processes and procedures and utilizes their knowledge of accounting and systems to improve the operational and financial effectiveness of projects for this growing company
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop and continually improve financial reports for operations and sales groups as needs of the business evolve. This includes publication of financial results to all levels of management each month.
- Assists with preparation of financial materials for periodic meetings as needed.
- Directly responsible for managing all day-to-day accounting operations throughout the organization including Billing, A/R, A/P, and GL.
- Responsible for preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements and reports, as required.
- Responsible for fixed asset and depreciation schedules.
- Responsible for month-end and year-end close process.
- Responsible for preparing and updating balance sheet account reconciliations monthly.
- Support CFO with internal and external audits.
- Support CFO, as needed, with preparation of budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
- Responsible to ensure quality controls over financial transactions and financial reporting.
- Together with CFO, develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Support all phases of the Project Accounting functions including:
- Propose proper revenue recognition treatment based on the contractual terms or customer purchase order.
- Ensure that revenue and job cost is properly recognized each accounting period.
- Fully utilize the Job Cost Module in Sage 100 and ensure that system data is current and accurate. Establish Project Numbers and Job Types to direct accounting transactions to the correct account.
- Provide Project Managers with the reports and information required so they can prepare for monthly project reviews. Lead the monthly Project Review meetings in a professional manner.
- Manage all phases of labor collection and reporting system to ensure accurate and timely information for reporting and billing purposes.
- Maintain Construction in Process reports and the status and utilization of pilot equipment and a forecast of future requirements for this equipment.
- Maintain ethical and professional business practices in day-to-day activities. Establishes relationships and rapport with internal leaders.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
- 5-7 years of job experience as an Accounting Manager or Controller, with overall 10 years in an accounting and finance role in a public or private company setting, and/or previous audit experience.
- Prior experience preparing consolidated financial statements and footnotes.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Above average modeling skills with Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with POC revenue recognition highly desired.
- Experience with Sage 100 or other Sage Software products is strongly preferred, including the design of work processes and procedures, implementation of new modules, and training operational personnel.

Salary: $95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
