What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Help Desk Intern position at Recursion?
THE PROBLEMS YOU'LL SOLVE
The help desk intern position is the first line of support for all IT requests. It is the help desk's responsibility to contain the issue, document the problem, assess the issue and get Recursion operational again. Evaluate issues from both on-site and remote Recursionauts and decide whether hand-off or escalation is necessary. You will support teams from a variety of departments, such as; Biologists, Software Engineers, Product Managers, Data Scientists, Human Resources, High Throughput Screening, Admin, and Finance. You will experience all levels of real-world technical issues. You will gain experience in automated imaging both Mac and Windows devices at a high scale. You will get experience with inventory management of IT related hardware, AV equipment and setup, and working with different identity providers to assign application credentials and permissions. You will work with both your intern mentor and the IT Specialist team.
Position responsibilities:
- The first line of support for incoming IT requests
- Escalate requests to the appropriate group
- Document common solutions in a Knowledge Base
- Setup and take down AV for company events
- Prepare system(s) and account(s) for new hires
- Learn the daily operations of an expanding IT department
- Help the IT Specialist team improve our internal processes as we grow together
