What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobile Repair Technician position at Recycle Waste Services?
Recycle Waste Services (RWS) is a regional, family owned business that has experieced explosive growth over the last 5 years. We opened a new terminal in 2024 that is currently hiring a Road Call Mechanic to join our team to support the growth of the Company.
A Road Call Mechanic must be able to operate a box service truck and provide roadside repairs, as well as work on site as needed. Must be able to come up with quick solutions to keep equipment productive. Sudden schedule changes will happen must be able to adapt and make changes quickly.
DUTIES
- Must be familiar with diesel engines, all makes. Hydraulic experience is a plus.
- Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Must be able to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
- Must be able to lift heavy objects to perform daily tasks.
- Must be qualified to perform DOT FMCSA annual inspections.
- Perform engine, electrical, hydraulic, and chassis repairs on wide variety of equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment.
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of truck equipment including, but not limited to the following: Electrical/Brake/Cooling Systems, Starters/Alternators, Air conditioning systems, Fan clutches, Engine electronics, Power steering systems, Engines (diesel), Transmissions (manual), Clutches, Differentials, etc.
- Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
- Use basic hand tools, precision instruments, as well as power tools, welding equipment.
- Document and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and all findings observed on Repair Orders (“RO”).
- Work with a high degree of independence.
- Maintain a high level of productivity and be able to work within or close to most standard repair times.
- Communicate with management and support team.
- Perform all work in compliance with organizational safety, health and environmental policies, and federal regulations, to include OSHA, EPA, and DOT.
- Participate and complete all-in company required safety training.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Diesel Technician on heavy duty vehicles.
- Reliable transportation
- Clean driving record with valid Driver License
- Must provide own hand tools that are adequate to perform job functions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $31.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 per week
