Basic Function:
Summary: Apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information, institute appropriate accounting control procedures, prepare financial statements and direct staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to)
- Prepare financial statements including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, cash flow statements and other specific cost accounting reports.
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare general ledger entries and document business transactions, including but not limited to, cash, inventory, accounts receivable, fixed assets and accounts payable transactions.
- Establish, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of accounting and accounting control procedures.
- Analyze and/or prepare operating and capital expenditure budgets.
- Monitor and review accounting and related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare and/or review revenue, expense, payroll, invoices, and other accounting documents.
- Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels and ensure expenditure control.
- Develop electronic invoicing and accounting policies.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Recommend and/or develop and maintain financial data bases, computer software systems and manual filing systems.
- Supervise the input and handling of financial data and reports for the Company's automated financial systems.
- Interact with internal and external auditors in completing audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles
- Knowledge of financial and accounting software applications
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports and projections
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong skill level with Microsoft Excel pivot tables and Word
- Strong overall computer skills
- Ability to work alone or in group on a road variety of projects
- Ability to exercise effective judgment, sensitivity, and creativity to changing needs and situations
- Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people over the course of work
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience
- 1 to 3 years of accounting experience
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Working conditions are normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional (very rare) weekend and/or evening work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
