Company Description
The New York Red Bulls are one of 28 teams in Major League Soccer (MLS). RBNY, one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, have competed in the league since its founding in 1996. The Red Bulls play home matches at Red Bull Arena (RBA) in Harrison, New Jersey. The three-time MLS Supporters' Shield Winners are owned by the Austrian beverage company Red Bull for which the team is named. The New York Red Bulls offer one of the nation's premier youth soccer development programs, from local soccer partnerships across New York and New Jersey to Regional Development Schools and the Red Bulls Academy teams.
The Player Care Manager will work within our Team Operations department in designated areas of player care and development. You will focus on providing operational and linguistic support on and off the field. You will also focus on developing relationships with new members of our club to foster engagement with the team.
Job Description
RESPONSIBILITES
- Develop and maintain relationships with our team and families to drive engagement within the club
- Assist Coaching staff and players with interpreting services (Portuguese or Spanish preferred) where possible, including at training sessions, team meetings, and other team activities as requested.
- Provide on-site operational support for all match days (home and road) for coaches and players
- Develop comprehensive, consistent onboarding processes for new players and staff, accounting for the specific needs of international joiners
- Manage and oversee the relocation activities for new players and staff (including travel to New Jersey, housing, setting up bank accounts and domestic cell phones, transportation, new hire paperwork, and reimbursements).
- Liaise with internal and external resources to assist new players and staff with local housing, driver’s license, and English language courses as applicable
- Provide administrative support for the travel and accommodations of prospective players and trialists
- Collaborate with league office departments and oversee compliance of mandatory trainings and new hire paperwork submissions
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 4 years in a professional sports setting
Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Positive attitude and a forward-thinking approach to problem solving.
Excellent judgment, decision making, and organization skills.
Strong ability to build relationships with various individuals, including athletes, family members, executives, and other internal and external stakeholders
Comfort and experience working with various levels of staff and management
Ability to work non-traditional hours, including match days, nights, and/or weekends to best service the needs of the team and its players
Because of the cyclical nature of the entertainment industry, you may be asked to work varying schedules to reflect the needs of the company.
