What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facility Director position at Red Circle Lodge?
POSITION SUMMARY: The facility director is responsible for all residential, food services, housekeeping activities and schedules for the clientele including direct living care for clients.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Directs and oversees the residential staff, approximately 10 employees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervises shift supervisors, and line staff, to include housekeeping/food service responsibilities
- Ensures all shifts meet the minimum required staff ratios
- Communicates with other members of administration about problems and presents possible solutions regarding facility, staff, and clients
- Represents the facility at meetings and trainings and is a key piece of two-way communication within the RCL team
- Cognizant of employee needs and communicates those to the other board members
- Communicates Company vision, standards, protocols, and information to employees
- Employee performance management to include:
- Hire and termination of direct care staff at ratios per company policy
- Performance management
- Employee evaluations at 90 days and annually thereafter
- Scheduling oversight
- Ensures that all direct care staff are competently trained in policy and procedure so they can ensure the safety and security of all residents
- Remains current in all trainings included but not limited to: CPR/First Aid, crisis management, suicide prevention, and other trainings as required by RCL
- Provides staff training on a variety of topics to include but limited to:
- First Aid/CPR, crisis management, PCS
- Program structure and protocols
- Various ongoing trainings as identified
- Provides communication and training to help staff understand the mission statement of RCL and are motivated through fulfilling its principles and goals
- Helps teach, demonstrate, and implement the philosophy of Positive Peer Culture amongst staff and other employees at RCL
- Responsible for ensuring RCL meets certain state requirements such as completing fire drills and meeting safety requirements
- Completes or delegates appropriate daily, weekly, and monthly reports for the use of RCL, contracting agencies, or for the State and local authorities
- Meets facility budget by managing staff schedules and eliminating overtime
Other Duties:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: At least an Associates’ degree in Social Services or similar discipline. A combination of formal education and job specific work experience can be considered in lieu of the degree.
Experience: Minimum three years of experience in residential treatment including at least 1 year supervisory experience
Physical Demands: Physical activities including standing, lifting (up to 50 pounds unassisted), bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
Primary activities: Involves driving, walking, and talking. Involves sitting and standing.
Travel: Requires frequent travel to various activities and resident oversight
Working conditions: Primarily inside with well - lit and well-ventilated areas.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: PCS, BLS and First Aid Certified, demonstrated leadership competencies, polished communication skills and ability to multi-task
ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The responsibilities of this position involve physical activities including standing, lifting (up to 50 pounds unassisted), bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting. Exposed to a residential, academic and therapy environment; following safety protocols and use of personal protective equipment (as necessary) is required. May be required to intervene with residential issues.
