The Red Hat Global Enterprise Supports Continuous Improvement Automation team is looking for an IT Scrum Master to join us. In this role, you will coordinate the delivery of agile-based project deliverables, lead the Continuous Improvement Automation team to implement iterative releases, and ensure that the teams adhere to Scrum methodologies and processes. You will facilitate internal and external communication, serving as the point of contact between product owners, managers, and team members. We'll need you to have excellent communication skills with leadership expertise to guide our Scrum teams. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do:
- Organize and facilitate sprint planning, daily scrum meetings, retrospectives, release planning, demonstrations, and other related meetings
- Track and communicate team velocity and sprint or release progress
- Facilitate communication, improve transparency, and share information
- Encourage discussion, conflict resolution, alternatives, or different approaches
- Empower the team to self-organize
- Assist in mitigating distractions and increasing team focus
- Maintain a full understanding of Scrum to ensure adherence to agile and Scrum concepts and principles
- Earn respect from the team and take initiative to follow through on commitments
- Assist with backlog maintenance when needed
- Design, document, and assist with execution of test scenarios
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
- 5 years of experience working with complex application development projects, preferably in a global organization
- Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum)
- Ability to write and execute SQL queries and an understanding of SQL database functionality
- Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
- Detail oriented with logical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively and to follow through on commitments in a dynamic environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Prioritization skills to complete tasks with a positive attitude to motivate and encourage the team
The following will be a plus:
- Experience with Jira
- Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
- Knowledge of Kanban
