About the job
The Red Hat Customer Success team is looking for a Senior Consultant to deliver solutions that solve our clients business challenges, through hands-on technical implementation and enablement of recommended practices. In this position, you will play a key role as a promoter of the adoption of Red Hat's solutions for our customers by using your technical expertise, content development skills and interpersonal skills. You’ll need to have a balance of solid technical experience, awareness of open source, thorough understanding of business processes and the ability to identify and solve issues at the enterprise level.

What you will do
- Guide customers in building large technology infrastructures that are scalable, optimally managed, and adaptable to technological improvements using Red Hat technological solutions
- Continuously learn, grow, and adapt to new skills and technologies
- Frequent travel to work with customers on client sites to guide technology implementation is required. This could be up to 60% annually.
After joining Red Hat… You will go through an intensive customized training program on Red Hat technologies and Customer Success solutions. Here's how your skill set will evolve and what you'll learn during your first year in the role:
At 2 months, be prepared to join a project team by acquiring the following:
- Understanding of how to build production-ready technical solutions, integrated with existing enterprise systems
- Learn technologies and consulting skills to enhance your abilities through enablements designed and taught by Red Hat experts and Red Hat certification
- Gain exposure and collaboration within Red Hat Customer Success & the larger organization through everyday networking and community events
Within 6 months, be ready to implement a project by attaining the following:
- Successful, collaborative delivery of customer projects as a technical lead through expertise on Red Hat’s technologies
- Knowledge of how a customer use case can be developed into a project plan and how those requirements align with Red Hat’s technologies
- Continue expanding your knowledge and network, both internal and external, through enablement, communities, customers, and meetups
Within 12 months, begin to demonstrate technical leadership by accomplishing the following:
- Successfully implementing complex, large-scale solutions in customer environments
- Active engagement and knowledge sharing with our internal and external communities of practice on lessons learned, best practices, and how-tos
What you will bring

- Experience with delivering an implementation based on an architectural design
- Demonstrated ability to lead a technical project including collaborating on project timelines and maintaining project and technical documentation
- Ability to identify stakeholder needs and set expectations regarding project timelines and scope of work
- Experience working collaboratively across diverse teams and stakeholders
- An ability and desire to mentor
- Advanced experience with Linux system administration, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) or a derivative
- Broad and deep technical experience with one or more virtualization and cloud technologies like OpenStack, Red Hat Virtualization, VMWare vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Amazon Web Services (AWS), IBM Cloud, Google Cloud or Microsoft Azure
- Advanced experience in automation of content for traditional IT workflows (ie cloud environments, infrastructure platform, networking), preferably Red Hat Ansible
- Applied knowledge and experience working in agile, scrum, and DevOps teams
- Balance of strategic and tactical skills with a high level of creativity and passion for open source software, tooling, and automation
- Preferred Experience:
- Experience with platform scripting using Ruby, Python, or Go languages
- Hands-on and experienced knowledge of OpenShift or Kubernetes on GKE, EKS or AKS
