The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Senior Specialist Solutions Architect (Application Platform) to join North America Public Sector (NAPS) Healthcare. In this role, you will be the catalyst for creating possibilities, solving problems, and establishing working relationships across Red Hat’s NAPS team, internal product teams, and externally across the U.S. government and open source communities. You’ll help us get to know our government customers and understand their articulated and unarticulated behavior patterns, like how they interact with our offerings and what leads them to alter their interactions. You’ll need to have a balance of serious technical expertise, passion for open source, detailed understanding of business processes, and the ability to identify and create business solutions across enterprise technology offerings. As a Senior Specialist Solutions Architect, you’ll need to have excellent communication and people skills because you'll be a key part of the first experience our customers have with Red Hat. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.

What you will do

• Gain a deep understanding of government business, healthcare and IT environments and collaborate with sales teams to assess the potential application of Red Hat’s solutions
• Understand current technology and industry trends; connect trends to customer value and Red Hat’s solutions
• Build, design, and present complex solutions to customers around applications running in a container environment (on-prem, cloud, hybrid), using a variety of Red Hat products most specifically OpenShift
• Meet revenue goals and deployment and service objectives while sustaining good relationships with existing and prospective customers
• Builds out customer-driven technical solutions using a combination of Red Hat products in their area of specialization and partner products based upon requirements from the customers use case needs and the information gathered by the Account Team.
• Continues the technical conversation with the customer, going further in depth on how specific use case needs can be addressed by multiple products working together.
• Owns delivering application platform solutions for customer use cases utilizing reference architectures, demos, workshops, deep dives, and PoCs. 
• Identifies and mitigates any technical conflicts within the account base, and helps the sales team get the technical win.
• Provides help with the customer’s hybrid cloud journey in support the sales cycles during that journey

What you will bring

• Experience in a technical presales role in support of senior sales executives
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to carry out written and verbal presentations
• Ability to interpret customer business and technical needs and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Passion for open source technologies and community-based development
• Ability to explain deeply technical concepts to non-technical audiences; ability to interpret and anticipate customer business and technical needs
• Proven record of developing relationships at engineering, customer, and executive levels throughout large enterprise IT organizations
• Knowledge of hybrid cloud infrastructure and management solutions in the market like KVM, VMware vSphere, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Microsoft Azure, or Red Hat OpenStack Platform
• Knowledge of technologies like clustering, directory services, identity management, SELinux, etc.
• Broad understanding of the application life cycle from development to operations and its respective practices (DevOps)
• Knowledge of key technologies in DevOps including security, and continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) tooling
• Understand of including Linux containers, container management, kubernetes, and enterprise solutions like Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
• Willingness to travel up to 30%

The salary range for this position is 162,000 - 260,000  OTE (inclusive of base pay target incentive compensation). Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
