Technical Support Engineer - Red Hat Enterprise Linux for SAP Solutions

The Red Hat Enhanced Support team is looking for an enterprise-level technical support engineer to join us remotely in North America. In this role, you will be critical to the success of Red Hat’s most strategic customers by serving as a technical expert supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux.  You will regularly collaborate with colleagues from Red Hat, your customers, and technology partners and help support solutions that allow enterprise customers to successfully deploy and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Work location near a Red Hat office is preferred; however, well-qualified remote engineers in the U.S. and Canada will be considered. For this role, we are looking for someone who can work HYBRID in Raleigh NC, Boston MA or Lowell MA . 

What you will do

• Ability to work HYBRID in Raleigh NC, Boston MA or Lowell MA
• Work with Red Hat partners, customers, and cloud providers to create joint solutions based on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 
• Provide technical support to Red Hat enterprise customers customers by responding to incoming calls, chat, and web-based inquiries
• Partner closely with colleagues from Red Hat Sales to assist their understanding of the company's joint offerings with cloud providers
• Regularly communicate and collaborate with a globally-distributed team of engineers
• Contribute internally to the Red Hat knowledge management system, share best practices with team members, and commit to internal projects and initiatives
• Document diagnostic steps and create reusable solutions for future incidents
• Contribute to regional and global initiatives and projects
• Troubleshoot and solve complex technical issues and drive issue escalation with Red Hat, cloud providers, partners, and customer teams
• Be available to perform weekend shift duties on a rotational schedule when needed

What you will bring

• 3 years of experience with Linux operating system installation, configuration, upgrade, and maintenance and a good understanding of Linux command line tools
• Practical experience with cloud providers like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Product.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills and a passion for problem solving and investigation
• Ability to succeed with minimal supervision with a globally-distributed team of engineers
• Experience installing SAP products, including SAP HANA, SAP NetWeaver, S/4HANA, etc is a plus
• Ability to build documentation and customer environment assessment.
• Ability to learn new technologies and follow industry trends
