ReDiscover is seeking an Accountant to add to our Accounting/Finance Department!

ReDiscover has been known for over 50 years as a non-profit community mental health center in southeastern Jackson County, Missouri with a mission of delivering efficient and cost-effective treatment for the people we serve. WHAT WE DO
The Accounting/Finance Department is responsible for facilitating and managing all financial aspects of ReDiscover including financial statements, grant management, payroll, and accounts payable. We provide our leadership with timely and accurate financial data to assist in the continued success of our mission.
At ReDiscover, while every day is different, a typical day may include the following roles and responsibilities:
- Handling all monthly accounting and reconciliations including journal entries, bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and managing prepaid expenses and fixed assets.
- Serving as a backup for other accounting functions such as payroll or accounts payable.
- Providing assistance with contract billing, deposit tracking, and grants.
- Assisting the department in preparing for any required audits.
- Assisting with various accounting projects.
We are focused on your development and will spend time helping you continue to grow as an Accountant. However, here are some things that you will need before starting with ReDiscover:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university required.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- At least four (4) years of experience in accounting/finance preferred.
- Experience using accounting and payroll software preferred.
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as G-Suite.
