ReDiscover is looking for a Building Safety Monitor to add to our Facilities Department!

ReDiscover has been known for over 50 years as a non-profit community mental health center in southeastern Jackson County, Missouri with a mission of delivering efficient and cost-effective treatment for the people we serve. Our diverse team of over 700 employees is “Passionate About People” as we support our community, specifically those whose lives have been affected by a mental illness or substance use.
WHAT WE DO
ReDiscover has multiple Programs that offer medication-assisted treatment for individuals who have an opioid use disorder, or other substance use-related disorders with co-occurring mental illness. Our goal is to prevent overdose, reduce withdrawal symptoms, normalize brain chemistry, relieve physiological cravings, and assist clients in achieving the life goals they have set.
At ReDiscover, while every day is different, a typical day may include the following roles and responsibilities:
- Greet and monitor all persons entering and leaving facility.
- Monitor building camera systems as needed.
- Monitor external walkways, parking lots, lobbies, entryways, internal hallways, restrooms, and other areas as needed.
- Assist with the development and implementation of safety plans for various locations and special events.
- Service all 911 calls, notify appropriate ReDiscover personnel of emergency status and communicate with emergency agencies as appropriate.
- Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
- To work scheduled shifts or notify the manager at least one business day prior to any absence.
- Responsible for other duties as assigned by the Director of Facilities
Qualifications
We are focused on your development and will spend time helping you continue to grow as a Building Safety Monitor. However, here are some that you will need prior to starting with ReDiscover:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Experience in digital control systems of various types of building automation systems is preferred.
- Intermediate knowledge of camera systems and camera monitoring functionality is preferred.
- General knowledge of safety and fire prevention rules is required.
- Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as G-Suite preferred.
- Experience with de-escalation techniques preferred.
