ReDiscover is looking for a Forensic Competency Restoration Provider I (FCRP-I) to add to our Diversion and Intervention Services Program!

WHAT WE DO

The Diversion and Intervention Services team partners with law enforcement and courts with the goal of empowering officers and court staff with resources, education, and skills to better respond to persons with mental health issues, as well as to divert unnecessary arrests, court cases, or hospitalizations.

 

The Forensic Competency Restoration Provider I (FCRP-I)  woks with Jackson County Detention Center (JCDC) and the Department of Mental Health (DMH) staff to provide behavioral health interventions for defendants in custody who have been determined Incompetent to Proceed, with the goal of restoring competency for these individuals. The FCRP-I is embedded within JCDC and acts as a direct service provider for the identified population as well as a liaison with DMH, courts, JCDC, and other treatment providers.

 

At ReDiscover, while every day is different, a typical day may include the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Establishing ongoing relationships with defendants, county jail, and courts including:  county jail staff and administration; circuit court judges and court staff; local law enforcement; local legal counsel including prosecutors and public defenders; CBHLs, jail navigators, or other community-based treatment staff working in jails.
  • Providing competency restoration and behavioral health services utilizing Evidence-Based practices to defendants that are committed to the Department of Mental Health as Incompetent to Proceed.
  • Coordinating services and maintaining communication with the Forensic Mobile Team and Jail Service Providers.
  • Coordinating with access appropriate resources upon release from county jail, and provide case management.
  • Attending conference calls, webinars, and face-to-face meetings/trainings, and conferences for professional development.
  • Attending meetings coordinated by DMH and the JCDC.


We are focused on your development and will spend time helping you continue to grow as a FCRP-I.  However, here are some things that you will need before starting with ReDiscover:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a Social Science related discipline as defined by the Missouri Department of Mental Health.
  • At least two (2) years of case management-related experience required.
  • A valid automobile driver’s license, appropriate automobile insurance, and a safe, reliable, registered automobile available for use during work is required.
  • Ability to work in a secure environment and to abide by the rules and regulations of the JCDC is required.
  • Working knowledge of assessment and treatment of behavioral health conditions.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a recovery focus.
  • Strong  written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as G-Suite.
