Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) Overview:
The QMHP at ReDiscover will serve clients seeking services for a chronic physical condition paired with a mental health diagnosis and/or a substance use disorder. This position will work within the agency's DM3700 Program, a state initiative where clients will possess a chronic physical condition paired with either a severe and persistent mental illness or a substance sue disorder. The QMHP can expect to be a vital asset to ReDiscover clients by utilizing:
Strategy & Planning
- Conducting high-quality clinical assessments and developing individualized treatment plans in a timely manner.
- Identifying and providing clinical interventions and referrals for clients based on their needs.
- Empowering clients to develop and nurture the knowledge, skills, and support systems crucial to promoting optimal functioning in the community
- Continually assess clients for lack of progress, progress, or emergent needs and address those needs clinically.
Operational Management
- Working with all internal members of the primary treatment team as well as the department treatment team to ensure positive communication regarding the coordination of client care.
- Working with external providers to ensure positive communication regarding the coordination of client care.
- Support the strategic goals and mission/vision/values of ReDiscover when interacting with clients, coworkers, and community stakeholders.
- Contribute to the mission of ReDiscover by adjusting work priorities and duties as needed to meet unforeseen demands.
Qualifications
By joining Team ReDiscover, our expectation is:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in psychology, social work, counseling, or closely related field.
- At least two (2) years of experience providing counseling to persons with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
- Understanding the function of nonprofits, specifically within behavioral healthcare.
- Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills in typing/keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Excel programs as well as GSuite.
- Acts with integrity by observing ReDiscover policy/procedures, accreditation standards, laws, and ethics.
- self-driven individual with a customer service focus.
- Team-oriented and skilled in collaborating with others.
