As a construction manager, you will provide leadership to the project; including project quality, timeliness, as well as facilitate delivery of the project. Organization, flexibility, excellent customer focus and strong communication skills are critical in performing duties. In the Construction Management role, you should be capable of providing the following duties:
- Assist Construction Project Manager with development and maintenance of project budget and schedule from project conception through construction. This will include development of construction cost estimates.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications. Perform quantity takeoffs for earthwork, site civil, landscape and irrigation improvements.
- Perform constructability and value engineering reviews during the civil engineering and landscape design process.
- Assist Sr. Construction Manager during the pre-construction phase with development of bid documents, scope of work, and special provisions for incorporation into the contract documents.
- Facilitate contract execution between contractor trades and owner.
- Manage the construction phase of the project, with support from the Sr. Construction Manager, to include contractor trade scheduling and coordination. This will involve daily duties in office and on-site coordinating construction activities related to erosion control, earthwork, wet utilities, concrete, asphalt, landscape, irrigation and dry utilities.
- Function as the main point of contact between the owner and contractor trades.
- Resolve site concerns for the owner or representative.
- Perform construction administrative tasks to include management of construction meetings to include meeting agenda and minutes; Review and approve payment applications and change orders; Log and track change orders, RFI’s and material submittals between contractor and review parties.
- Coordinate and attend punchlist walks for project closeout and jurisdictional acceptance.
- Provide support to other team members and Project Manager(s).
- Participates in mentoring programs and career growth development.
Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering from an accredited university or college.
Experience:
- Typically, 5 years of construction management experience primarily focused on land development projects in horizontal construction. Candidates with lesser experience are also encouraged to apply.
Qualifications:
- Able to research municipal codes, zoning and development standards, review processes, regulations, and design standards.
- Able to develop mentoring skills and provide technical guidance to other associates.
- Prior experience with AutoCAD Civil3D and AGTEK is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Project, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
