Job Title: Seasonal Greenskeeper level 1

Reports To: Superintendent / Assistant Superintendent / 2nd Assistant Superintendent / Equipment Manager

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

DATE REVISED: January 2020

Job Summary: Under direction, maintain, repair, and renovate the golf course. This person is entry level to 2 years of experience with our golf course maintenance team and must be able to learn how to take care of the aspects of the course and equipment which are taught to them.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned by management:

  • Perform all assigned tasks in a safe and efficient manner, always employing the proper safety precautions.
  • Maintain the aspects of the course you are trained on; Raking Bunkers, Bunker Mowing, String Trimming, Mowing Tees and Approaches, Mowing and Rolling Greens, Mowing Fairways, Mowing Rough, Setting up the Course, and Hand Watering Hot Spots.
  • Maintain the aspects of the course you are trained on at the highest level of care.
  • Operate and clean utility vehicles and equipment, following company safety standards and manufacturer’s recommendations.
  • Communicate potential problems by informing a supervisor of any equipment or agronomic issues.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Must be able to communicate in a professional manner.
  • Must keep a professional appearance.
  • Must maintain a safe and orderly maintenance facility
  • Must be able to help set-up and tear down any special event that Redlands Mesa Golf Course provides to its customers (Weddings, concerts, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications and Skill Requirements:

  • At least 16 years of age
  • Ability to learn how to operate equipment in a safe manner
  • Ability to show up to work on time
  • Ability to work well with co-workers
  • Ability to have solid time management, organization, and prioritization skills
  • Ability to learn golf rules and etiquette

The employee may be required to wear safety equipment (e.g., safety goggles, protective glasses and gloves, and garments). The employee may be required to move or lift objects weighing 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold and/or hot conditions, moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock, sharp objects, open flame, and high noise level.

Rate Of Pay: Is determined by seniority, experience, and the ability to work safely with the up most professionalism. The range of pay for this position is current minimum wage.
