We are looking for a Linux Systems Engineer to support, automate, and maintain the hybrid cloud Infrastructure. You will be responsible for the integration and management of Linux servers, enterprise storage, virtualization, and other enterprise infrastructure.

This is a hands-on position troubleshooting issues, exploring open-source tools and looking for opportunities to enable automation to enhance efficiency and reliability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build, manage, and troubleshoot an extensive Linux environment supporting all other technology teams.
• Provide design, integration, support, and management of systems infrastructure.
• Engineer and architect high performing, resilient, and easily recoverable infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain documentation of the systems and environments.
• Plan, implement, and manage projects and solutions within the environment.
• Explore new technologies, methods, and processes which would improve efficiency, performance, and reliability.
• Explore and develop automation for operational tasks and self-service tools.
• Research incidents to provide root-cause-analysis and develop improvement plans to mitigate future incidents.

BACKGROUND

• Expert level experience with Linux administration, tuning, and troubleshooting (Ubuntu, RHEL/CentOS/Rocky)
• Strong experience with networking concepts and technologies such as OSI layers, routing, address translation, DNS, SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS, ssh, LDAP, etc.
• Good experience automating infrastructure environments using Python and bash shell scripting
• Good experience creating and supporting Ansible playbooks.
• Good experience utilizing Github.
• Solid experience supporting and securing public cloud environments (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure).
• Experience supporting VMware vSphere environments.
• Experience supporting enterprise configuration management tools (Puppet, Saltstack, Chef).
