Looking for a Sr. Linux Systems Engineer to support, troubleshoot, automate, and maintain hybrid cloud Infrastructure. This includes the integration, management, and troubleshooting of Linux servers, enterprise storage, virtualization, and other core systems infrastructure that supports all environments.
- Provide design, integration, support, and management of companies’ systems infrastructure.
- Engineer and architect high performing, resilient, and easily recoverable infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain documentation of the systems and environments.
- Plan, implement, and manage projects and solutions within the environment.
- Explore new technologies, methods, and processes which would improve efficiency, performance, and reliability of existing infrastructure.
- Continuously explore and develop automation for operational tasks and self-service tools for the Systems Engineering team’s customers.
- Coordinate and work with other teams such as Network Engineering, DEVOPS, developers, and Security on projects and initiatives.
- Research incidents to provide root-cause-analysis reports and improvement action items.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations.
Required Skills
- Excellent expertise with Linux administration, tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Preferably Ubuntu, RHEL/CentOS/Rocky families.
- Good understanding of networking concepts and technologies such as but not limited to: OSI layers, routing, address translation, DNS, SMTP, HTTP/HTTPS, ssh, LDAP, etc.
- Good experience with Python and bash shell scripting.
- Good experience creating and supporting Ansible playbooks.
- Good experience utilizing Github.
Desired Skills
- Supporting and securing public cloud-based environments such as Google Compute, AWS, and Azure.
- Supporting and troubleshooting VMware vSphere v7 environment.
- Supporting and troubleshooting SAN storage arrays
- Supporting enterprise configuration management tools such as Puppet, Salt stack, or Chef.
- Supporting and creating docker containers.
- Integration and automation with Terraform.
