The CAAS Supervisor is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting for firm clients. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The Supervisor also has the responsibility to supervise the work of multiple staff. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities, including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end client tax and audit projects, and the support of budget and forecast activities. The Supervisor will have contact with clients and client contacts, including the client’s tax accountant and other professional service providers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Audit daily transactions in Casino Management System in accordance to MICS and TICS. This includes financial gaming reports such as coin in/coin out, win,  jackpots, bill acceptance. Research any variances.
  • Balance and reconcile daily deposits for slots, table games, card games, off-track betting, sports betting, etc.
  • Review forms and/or paperwork from Cage Cashiers related to overages and shortages and the tip pull, ensuring accuracy.
  • Complete daily revenue audit checklist and maintain daily issues tracking log that includes information such as status and resolution of outstanding and new system or procedural issues
  • Maintain liability accounts such as comps, points, tickets, progressives.
  • Overall day-to-day management of financial reporting accuracy and on-time processing of client information
  • Review and approval of account classifications, payroll reconciliations, bank and other balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Review of G/L for any missing transactions and overall accuracy
  • Management of weekly “Open Items” and “To-Be-Coded” lists, supervised/reviewed by the CAAS Manager
  • Preparation of initial/draft Management Reporting Package each month, for completion by the CAAS Manager
  • Client Password Vault maintenance (managed by CAAS Manager)
  • Management of A/R, A/P and Payroll transaction cycles and routing of Sales Tax and other reports for preparation within the firm
  • Day-to-day supervision of CAAS Accounting Specialists and CAAS Assistants to include setting priorities, evaluating quality of daily work, and training of existing and new staff.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Experience with Casino Management System preferred
  • Cash operations (vault, soft count, money room, and cage) a plus 
  • Knowledge of NIGC MICS preferred 
  • Experience working in a paperless environment strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Team player with a positive “can-do” approach

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
  • Prior bookkeeping experience that involved processing of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll is required. Experience preparing payroll and sales tax returns strongly preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel experience required.
